Due to the newbie/noob definition's, I put newcomer

There are some initial things that should be done before they play their first game, even Suppression. Please feel free to add to the list, but I will start out with some things people new to the game will overlook

1. First thing, go to the PS Store and download the add-ons for the game. Trooper Pack, All 3 PMC armor downloads. People don't know/think to look for any free DLC/ULC for the game.

2. Make use of your BARRACKS and your SKILLS TREE. Here is where you use your Levels Skill Point to upgrade your character. Weapons and abilities.

3. Don't abuse your RESPEC option in the SKILLS. RESPEC ( not respect) is re specializing your character and your gameplay style. Just because you reach the 1000 first respec points, don't respec right way.

4. Get your MED KIT and REZ as soon as possible. This will help build your XP level advancing. (You can get full REZ at lvl 10)

5. If you have a mic, please use it wisely. If you don't have one, pay attention to what you hear from others in your squad. Hopefully you will hear SL tactics and plan of actions.

6. Work as a team. Enough said there.

7. Don't change your spawn point! A lot of newcomers will change their spawn point because they feel that the one they are keeps getting them killed too quick, so they change their spawn point to the other side and what usually follows is this person will be all over the map and just not a good thing for your team or the match period.

8. Pay attention to people that you play with as a random. While you are alone in the game, if you see people that you play with that you seem to do well with, ask them for a friend invite, send them on or ask if they can group you up with them. The game can make for many hours of better game play when you know your squad mates.

9. DOG TAGS AND THE NUMBER BLINKING? This means you have impressed someone and you have a Clan Invite. Choose to accept if you wish. After you join a clan, this Dogtag and number indicate how many people in your clan are on MAG at the moment

10. DON'T GIVE UP! The game has a higher learning curve than most. Just because your KDR is super low, does not mean, initially, that you suck. Just means you are new and it is going to take more time for you build up all of your weapons and abilities. You may experience less than 100 XP in a match while others on your team achieve 1K XP +/-

This is normal.

11. Check out all parts of the forum. Use the search function. You can find a lot of answers, but sometimes you will just want to make a new thread, but expect some backlash.

12. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

13. BEFORE YOUR FIRST MATCH DO THE TRAINING MODE IN THE DEPLOY.

14. Start out with Suppression for a few rounds. Suppression and Sabotage are the initial choices you have. Suppression is PMC on PMC (Blue on Blue). This is where you can learn the game's mechanics. Get a feel for your weapons and how your gameplay is, but is it by no means the tell tale signs of this game.

15. Your KDR is not an important factor in this game, for the most part. Your teamwork and the objectives are the key to winning. With that said, you and your squad can do really well, but you will possibly lose a lot more than you would like. But it is a team based game. If you have fun, play well with others and just do your best, without bragging or boasting, your will not even notice your losses. :smileywink:

16. Medical Kit and First Aid Kit are not created equal! Equip your MEDICAL KIT, after you have spent the Skill points on it. Once you get resus, you can Windex players that are down. But, check your squadmates health at all times. It is just good business Let them know they are low, whether they know it or not. But if you are close, pull out your medkit and spray them. You will see the hollowed out meter on the screen get shaded in when you are close enough and someone needs a shot of Windex.

17. DON'T BLEEDOUT People will be there to revive you. Look around when you go down. At first you cannot control the camera. But you will be able to in just a few seconds. So look around, see if anyone has a Medic Cross on their name. They should get you when they are close.

18. Don't Be Stingy with your Windex. When possible, Rez other squadmates first. But not right in front of an enemy.

19. Learn the APC.

THEY ARE NOT TANKS! All they are (when attacking) are forward spawn points. You are not invulnerable in one; they are actaully pretty fragile. Therefore, please do not destroy your squad's spawn point by putting in range of enemy turrets (turret rockets shred APCs). Keep it safe. If you spawn at one that's, say, parked behind a wall near an objective, PLEASE DO NOT MOVE IT - it was placed there for a reason (to be a safe forward spawn). DO NOT DRIVE MISS DAISY It's often frustrating to see a new player go joyriding in the APC, not understanding why everyone is suddenly mad at them.

20. Be aware of teamkilling! This is not COD and your actions have consequences on your teammates. Grenades will kill your team too! Before you toss a grenade, make use of your CNI/HUD/MAP and just in the direction you plan on throwing. Look before grenading. Grenades are wonderful things. They go boom, people go bye. Unfortunately, this includes teammates. Try to make sure you don't through a Frag Grenade into a room full of teammates.

21. YOU DON'T NEED TO CONSTANTLY RUN! If you run, the other team will notice you. If you don't think they will, then they DEFINITELY will, and you'll be dead shortly. Advanced Stealth (in the Athletics tree) is a wonderful little skill that will keep enemies from noticing you on their radar... UNLESS YOU RUN (see the original point). However, you are not The Predator, and Advanced Stealth does not make you invisible. If they physically see YOU, they'll probably shoot at you.

22. Don't test the SQUARE button on the Character Management screen. Doing this will delete your character and stats for good.

This is a good enough start on my end.

DEFINITIONS or ACRONYMS:

PMC is your faction. Private Military Corporation.

FACTION...not a FRACTION. Your PMC.

APC is your vehicle. Armoured Personnel Carrier. Not a "PC".

TURRET. Not a turrent

FRAGO is your Fragmentary Order. Your objective.
WAYPOINT is just that. Used to designate a meeting point or which way to go.

SL is your squad leader

PL is your Platoon Leader

OIC is your Company Leader.

REZ is resuscitation. Blue Mist. Windex. Resus. Medic's outcome

another tip i might have missed while skimming was in the Support Section of the skills there is Resusitation and Improved Resusitation, Get the normal one as soon as possible because it is the easiest way to get experience while your learning the game (+10xp for reviving someone, and probably around +5-15xp for healing someone depending on how hurt they are, and double if your by a frago) When you get some lvls and are looking to get the Improved Resusitation (which is a huge help honestly it brings people back to life with full health as opposed to half) get this skill via a respec as you can skip resusitation and go right for improved resusitation and still get the same benefit, this saves you 2 points for use elsewhere.
